Artisans in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana weave these beautiful and durable baskets from thick, tough elephant grass. A popular choice among shoppers, busy mothers and picnic planners worldwide, Bolga baskets stand up to use and abuse and remain functional and beautiful for years. * materials: elephant grass, leather * aproximately 15" x 15" * may have slight variations in design and size as this is a one-of-a-kind handmade product * care: easily reshape your basket by lightly spraying with water, press into shape by hand, then let dry Meet the Artisans This item is fairly made in Africa. Each artisan is able to work from the comfort of their own home and community. The fair payment they receive will not be reduced by traveling expenses, childcare costs or haggled prices. The artisans use their earnings to put food on the table and pay educational expenses for their children. Please note: To reduce postage costs and packaging these baskets are flattened for postage, this does not harm them in any way, and simple instructions on how to reshape the baskets are included, once wet they pretty much bounce back to the original shape with a little help from you. Returns + Exchanges – In stock items

We are happy to accept returns and exchanges for items stocked at Prevalent Projects within 30 days of purchase. Clients will be responsible for the cost of shipping in both directions. Stocked items purchased on sale cannot be returned.

Returns + Exchanges – Ready to ship items

We accept returns and exchanges for “Ready to ship” items, provided the return is made within 14 days of receipt and with the original packaging. Clients will be responsible for the cost of shipping in both directions. If the return is made later than 14 days and/or without the original packaging, we will apply an additional 25% restocking fee.

Returns + Exchanges – Made to order items

Any item that is not in stock or ready to ship is made to order. Please be sure to measure carefully and thoughtfully consider custom and made to order purchases. These items cannot be returned or exchanged. We cannot cancel delayed orders resulting from manufacturing or shipping delays. We will apply a 50% restocking fee (plus shipment costs) for any refused deliveries.
